Another year another Jack White supergroup – or quite possibly a side project of his side project.
With The White Stripes return looking increasingly remote – perhaps a good thing after their recent one-off appearance on US chat host Conan O’Brien’s final show - Jack White has formed yet another blue rock band.
This one’s called Dead Weather and includes Alison Mossheart of much swooned-over duo The Kills, guitarist Dean Fertita of Queens Of The Stone Age and bass player Jack Lawrence (don’t look at his eyes) from White's other part-time concern The Raconteurs.
The band have already played live and made their debut in Nashville last night in front of an invitation-only crowd of 150 fans and famous folk including Sheryl Crow, Martina McBride and White Stripes drummer Meg White.
In impressive speedy fashion the band already have a single out Hang You From The Heavens for download and an album coming soon. Judging by the evidence on YouTube his new band features Jack singing and drumming.

I think Virgin should make it clear in their adverts that their preferred customers are 'Spotty' Muldoon and his pimply mates
