The outspoken singer-turned-actress has decided she will tweet no more.
Lily Allen is known as much for her acerbic wit as her quirky dress sense, musical career and tabloid photographs, but she has shocked thousands of fans by ditching Twitter.
The Smile singer shot to fame after posting her songs on social networking site MySpace. The accompanying blogs were not only entertaining, but plentiful and painfully honest.
Allen soon moved onto Twitter, where she would post updates up to 10 times a day, often getting into heated arguments. She once called celebrity blogger Perez Hilton a “jealous old queen.”
But now, at the behest of her boyfriend, 44-year-old Sam Cooper, she has dumped her internet pals. She said: “My boyfriend gets really angry. He's like: 'I want to spend some time with you, do we have to have one and a half million people in the room with us?’”
She has even given away her gadgets, including a Macbook and Blackberry, to avoid the temptation to tweet. Sources say she now only has an old-fashioned mobile phone which she leaves at home on nights out and she has not posted anything on he social networking sites for a month.

she is the only person that is a chav but aspires to be one. the only street thing about that girl is the amount she puts out. glad her twitter days are dead, this will give hope to all that maybe other as awful bands and minor celebrities may to realise they aren't interesting or funny and just as bloody annoying as miss allen so their twittering would also cease. long live katy brand.

i miss lily allen so much on twitter its not funny!. i wish she would come back. Her fans wil always be there for her and sam cooper might not be. ahh it was her decidison but so we have to accept it... obviously. i love you lily! :(
