Morrissey has always been known for his artistic and thought provoking singles sleeves...
The Smiths covers featured a catalogue of black and white British film icons from Terrence Stamp to Rita Tushingham, while his solo covers have featured the man himself in a series of stylish portraits.
What then are we to make of the inner sleeve for his new single Throwing My Arms Around Paris?
In a photo so cheesy The Cheeky Girls would probably dismiss it as tacky the 49-year-old Mancunian and his backing band are seen naked except for some strategically placed seven inch singles concealing their bits. Surely this isn’t a stunt becoming of gentlemen – especially Morrissey’s portly guitarist Boz Borer whose giant baby body flesh can be glimpsed looming behind his more svelte bandmates.
Ach well, some guys are bigger than others. Or maybe Moz found himself in a dilemna he documented on Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now – “I would go out tonight but I haven’t got a stitch to wear”. Disturbing.
