Shock horror! Ryan Gosling is retiring from acting! And the world wept in unison! Thankfully, after we mopped up our tears and watched The Notebook a few dozen more times, we noted that Gosling's retirement would only consist of a few years off, and realised he'd return to Hollywood once he'd had a break from acting. With no movies to commit to, we're guessing Gosling will want to utilise some of the skills he's learned on films he's made, so with that paper thin concept in mind, here are 10 possible professions Ryan Gosling might look into taking up in his time off.

Because we know you like all things Emma Watson, here's a fresh batch of stills from her exciting new movie, The Bling Ring. Directed by Sofia Coppola (Lost In Translation), it stars Emma as one of a number of teens who get their kicks through robbing the homes of celebrities and stealing their jewellery. The Bling Ring is released in the UK on Friday 5th July.

Are we alone in the universe? It's a question that many of us have considered down the years, which perhaps explains why little green men have been an ever present on our movie screens. During that time we've seen E.T phone home, watched Xenomorphs pop out of peoples' stomachs and seen saucer men blow the hell out of earth's most iconic landmarks.

With the help of James Franco, four teenage girls are about to tear up the screen in the startlingly original indie cult-hit-to-be, Spring Breakers. The man behind the madness is writer / director Harmony Korine, whose movie career is about as normal as a bucket of badgers. We went to our resident guru The Explainer to find out more about the unconventional director...

It's 80 years since King Kong was forcibly removed from Skull Island and made to appear on Broadway like some tap-dancing starlet. His subsequent destruction of parts of New York was undeniably impressive, but what's he been up to since? I sat down with the 50-foot tall gorilla for a look back at his eight-decade-long career.

As Harmony Korine's much-hyped Spring Breakers arrives in UK cinemas, we take a look at whether the old adage - sex sells - still applies.

Of course, everything's easy in hindsight. If I'd known what I know now, I wouldn't have eaten that hotdog out of the bin. I wouldn't have spent £10 and 121 minutes watching Gigli. I wouldn't have stuck my hand that far into the waste disposal unit. But some decisions are costlier than others and so to celebrate April Fools' Day, here's our pick of Hollywood's worst decisions.

Speaking at Washington DC's National Press Club in 1963 to promote his latest film, The Birds, Alfred Hitchcock spoke fondly of his avian stars. But he didn't forget the human actors in his movie, remarking: "The cast also includes a few men and women. After all, the picture isn't just about the birds… it's about the bees, too."

This week finally sees the long-delayed release of GI Joe: Retaliation, an explosive pageant of thrills, spills and eye-popping 3D silliness that tantalisingly unites action titans Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Bruce Willis on-screen for the very first time. Based on Hasbro's popular line of macho action figures, GIJ:R is the latest blockbuster to take inspiration from the shelves of Toys 'R' Us as Hollywood figures out how to get kids off the sofa and back into the multiplex.
