With Marvel's Avengers assembling as we speak, we've got thinking about the important issues in life. Stuff like: what's the greatest superhero hero ever made?
The Avengers is the stuff geek dreams are made of: established screen heroes Iron Man, thor, Captain America and the Hulk all together on the same team, with Scarlett Johansson in a cat-suit thrown in for luck, and nerd god Joss Whedon calling the shots. Could it be a more tantalising set-up?
We're going to stop short of calling The Avengers the greatest superhero ever made, mainly because we haven't seen it yet. Before we do, we figured we'd put together a countdown of our 20 favourite existing superhero movies, just so we could see what The Avengers will be up against.
