What's your Movie Of The Decade?

We're about to run a poll for your favourite Movie Of The Decade, so start thinking about the top films of the last ten years.

With the first decade of the new millennium finally winding down, the dust has almost settled on the noughties – so we thought it was time that we named the greatest Movie Of The Decade.

In the next few weeks, we'll be asking you to vote on your favourite films released since January 1st, 2000 – any movie released either in the UK or US after that date will be eligible. Now, that's a lot of films to choose from, but we'll be giving you five slots to fill – and you'll be able to give your reasons why.

Think Oscar-winners like Gladiator, Slumdog Millionaire, No Country For Old Men and The Departed. Think blockbusters like Spider-Man, Transformers, Lord Of The Rings and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Think animations like Shrek, Ice Age and the Pixar movies, or British classics like This Is England and Casino Royale. There are hundreds and hundreds of great movies, but we only want the best.

Once your votes are in, we'll display the top films and let you vote on your absolute favourites until there is a clear winner. Then, at the end of the year – and indeed the end of the decade – we'll count down the top movies that have defined a generation.

We'll keep you posted when the polls are open, but get your thinking cap on and start jotting down ideas. There'll be prizes up for grabs for all those who enter, too!

Discuss: What's your favourite movie of the millennium so far?
