According to the Brighton Evening Argus he was “left with blood pouring from his head after being jumped on by a female fan” who threw herself on him while he was filming a makeover TV show at an airport causing DVD to fall into a plane.

Poor Dave. The best part of the sorry tale though is the reaction by the Argus readers who suspect the incident was a publicity stunt and lay into the local celeb with gusto – one claims to have been to his I’m A Celebrity homecoming party a glittering event attended by 15 people.

“Is the plane OK?” asks one concerned correspondent, while another mocks his inability to sing and claims that “he couldn’t even run a burger van” (an occupation he once held in Brighton city centre).
