Here's a bit of film that throws all those off key X Factor auditions into sharp relief. It's a tape of Britney Spears performing live in Las Vegas...

...with all the other microphones except hers faded out: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/11ed201165. Ouch. Would Britney make it to boot camp? No frickin' way.

    her singing while dancing and prancing about on stage could hardly be anything but breathy and not good.....what is good is to see her back looking her old self....for goodness sake...give the gal a break

    Well I was going to agree with emma from telford - but then I heard it!, dreadful!, but I imagine many singers sound like this before their voices are electronically tweaked for concerts.
    She sounds out of breath, out of tune etc, just like you or I would be if we attempted this!
