Music legend Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, aged 50. What are your memories of the King of pop?
Michael Jackson burst onto the music scene at the age of five, performing with his brothers as the Jackson Five. He went on to become a worldwide superstar and became known as the King of pop.Although dogged with ill health and controversy surrounding his private life in recent years, he was due to perform a residency of 50 dates in London from July 13th.
What are your memories of the King of pop? Did you ever see him live? Did you have tickets for his O2 shows? What will be his musical legacy? Leave your tributes below
I saw Michael at his Bad concert and I was smitten, he looked at me and I could see he noticed me. From then onwards, I became a true fan and did not believe anything about child abuse. How can a nice person like Michael do those things he was accused of is beyond belief, yes he liked Jordan that boy he was accused of molesting but it was all to do with his image, and he paid up to stop the rumour.
Rest in Peace Michael, I'm sure Jesus has wrapped you in his arms, you did well on earth, so do well also in heaven.
God Bless, sleep tight. Goodnight my lovely Michael.
I forgot to say.. I had tickets to two of the scheduled shows - those were going to be two of the best nights of my life. I had looked forward to them for months, the thought of seeing Michael Jackson live helped me through tough times. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd get the chance to see Michael Jackson in concert. on June 24th more tickets were released 'production tickets' that is when I got the tickets to my second show, right next to the stage. The next day, he was gone. Just like that. Dream over.
MJ I hope you didn't think you had something to prove, you did not you were alway and will always be the greatest.
I wish your beautiful children the very best. Nobody will replace you as a parent.. I know you taught them so much, and you taught them well. I hope you are able to protect them from up there.
It is not right that they are being hounded.. they are children, not celebrities. A few weeks ago they were involved in a car crash caused by paparazzi chasing them on their way to karate lessons. This danger can't continue.
My memories of Michael.. well. When I first saw one of his videos on the TV in 2001 I was 12/13 years old, it was 'You Rock My World'. He captured me right there and then. I was so intrigued by him, I couldn't take my eyes away. Thats when I became interested in his music.
I found out more about him as a person, and thats when I learned what a sweet , wonderful, kindhearted person he was. I saw how he was fun and playful. I saw how humble he was. I saw him helping charities, hospitals and individuals, with his money and importantly with his time. He really cared for the world and the people in it. 'He walked with Kings, yet never lost the common touch'. Thats when I fell in love with him and really became a fan.
When MJ went through difficult times, I followed everything, took time to read documents, transcripts etc. it was obvious he was innocent. I mean.. come on, he was apparently going to kidnap the family by flying them out of Neverland in a hot air balloon?! I defended Michael against people who did not take the time to find out about him, instead believing the media created caricature. He was aquitted and that was a day of relief and joy.
I was lucky enough to meet a couple of young people around my age who had met Michael and been helped by him. He has done so much good for this world and he is not recognised for it.
He inspires his fans to be a positive influence on the world and I am inspired to carry on my support and defence of him.
I am PROUD to be a Michael Jackson fan, not only for his ground shaking talent, but also because of the true beautiful person he was.
You were too good for this world to accept.
Rest in Peace Beautiful
xxxxxxx
Try to see the world through innocent eyes, then you will understand our King.
Those who talk trash do not know the real Michael. The humble, generous, kindhearted, young soul.
They do not know facts.
Sleep well beautiful Angel eyes xxxxxxxxx
MJ does NOT deserve the abuse he gets. Go and lay that upon someone who deserves it.
i am very sorry to hear of the death of a ,'star' that went through all the abuss that i heard , the man must be a 'brilliant' man to do all his own work , god bless , xxx
